Sarah Shaw
Sarah Shaw creates a thoughtful, well-rounded yoga experience while offering a warm and supportive space. Students are invited to tune into their inner guidance to cultivate a meaningful practice that nourishes their unique body and constitution. Her classes encompass equal parts intelligent sequencing and intuitive exploration. Honoring the natural rhythm of the breath is encouraged in Sarah’s classes, and each mindful movement is grounded by a foundation of energetic alignment.
Sarah believes the embodiment and philosophy of our yoga practice can and should follow us off the mat, where a deep compassion and empathy for ourselves will ripple outward. This compassion can inform our actions towards all living beings and the sacred Earth we inhabit. Sarah is passionate about championing animal rights and sustainable habits to lesson our impact on our planet.
As a child, Sarah found a deep love for yoga when she stumbled across an early morning PBS program featuring Pat Hanson. At this young age she knew she would someday share the beauty of yoga with others, and though her path sometimes meandered, she eventually returned to the practice as an adult. Sarah completed her 200 hour training at Samadhi Center for Yoga, under the tutelage of Denver’s most well respected teachers. She completed another 200 hour training in the style of Prana Vinyasa™ in 2018 through her teacher Devon Sweeney, and is currently working toward her 500 hour certification in the same style, as transmitted by the amazing Shiva Rea.
Sarah teaches SUP, Yin, Restorative, Gentle, and Yoga Nidra, and also holds certifications as a Reiki Practitioner and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
She loves hanging out under the sun on her standup paddle board, creating sacred jewelry and organic body care products, and spending time with her beloved partner and sweet little pet rats.
